Liberty Family Academy (LFA) is a commonwealth for home educators in the Treasure Valley. LFA is a family style program, meaning there is room for everyone in the family, from baby to graduate. Our newly ratified constitution was created so our commonwealth will out last our torchbearer and founding families. We have a leadership board with regularly elected officers, and a wonderful group of parent volunteers. Everyone has an opportunity to serve our LFA community.
Since our founding, we've worked to engage, nurture, and support our students, scholars and families in their homeschooling journeys. Our teachers are the best possible ones: their parents who know their own children the best.
From a young age, our children are engaged in a variety of classes that utilize both auditory and kinesthetic learning strategies, allowing all students to learn in a fun, energetic and supportive environment.
And as our kids grow up, so do their classes. At age 12, students matriculate into our scholar program, a unique class that encourages our older students to learn, grow, and become leaders in their home, community, and among their peers. Through our program, they learn how to learn, not what to learn. Then, once graduated, they take those skills with them wherever life may lead them.
Past classes and current junior program classes include:
Astronomy, Greek mythology, mathematics, geology, theater literature analysis, biology, poetry, music, baking, Lego building, arts and crafts, and physical education.
Past and current Scholar classes/projects include:
Ignite, Key of Liberty, Shakespeare Conquest, Georgics, Pyramid Project, Sword of Freedom and Hero Project.
We are developing lasting friendships in a loving and safe environment, built on trust and respect.
We are becoming scholars and statesmen as we discover principles of truth.
We are doing our part to fulfil our missions and helping to make the world a better place.
